Summary (not binding)
This summary is provided to make the license easier to understand. If there is any difference in interpretation, the full text of the articles below prevails.
You may: download, study, modify, assemble, print PCBs for yourself, and use the files in your own repair or servicing work.
You may: share the link to the official page with anyone.
You may not: re-upload the files elsewhere, sell them, bundle them, or manufacture PCBs or kits for sale based on these files.
Please note: the electronic circuit itself does not belong to Elwar Braja. Only the files made by Elwar Braja are licensed here.
1. Scope of this license
1.1. This license governs the use of the files created and distributed by Elwar Braja, meaning the presentation of the drawings, the layout, the documentation, and the digital assets that accompany them.
1.2. This license does not govern, restrict, or claim ownership over:
- electronics principles, theory, and formulas;
- the function, topology, or operating principle of a circuit;
- standard component values and types;
- technical methods for making or assembling anything; or
- works belonging to third parties.
The material listed in 1.2 falls outside the scope of this license and remains subject to applicable law and to its respective owners.
2. Definitions
2.1. “Files” means the files actually made available on a given download page, which may include schematic drawings, supporting documentation, component lists, supporting images, and any accompanying archives.
2.2. “You” means the individual or entity that downloads, stores, or uses the files. If you do so for or on behalf of an entity, you represent that you are authorised to bind that entity to this license.
2.3. The presence of one type of file does not mean any other type of file is promised or included.
2.4. Production files — including PCB source files, Gerber files, drill files, pick-and-place files, and other fabrication files — are not distributed and are not licensed by this document. If such files are made available in the future, a separate agreement or offer will apply.
3. Nature of the grant
3.1. This license is granted free of charge, worldwide, and is non-exclusive, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and terminable as set out in Article 17.
3.2. This license grants only the rights of use expressly stated in Article 5. Rights not expressly granted remain with Elwar Braja, to the extent such rights exist under Article 1.2 and Article 12.
4. Acceptance
By downloading, storing, or using the files, you are deemed to have read and accepted this license. If you do not accept it, do not download or use the files.
5. Permitted use
For personal purposes as limited by Article 6, you may:
- download and keep a copy of the files for yourself;
- study the circuit and its documentation;
- modify the schematic, component values, or layout;
- redraw the circuit for your own learning;
- print or order PCBs for your own use;
- assemble, test, repair, and use the circuit; and
- use the circuit in servicing, repair, or maintenance work that you carry out yourself, including where you perform that work for a customer.
6. Boundary between personal and commercial use
6.1. Item 5.g is expressly included in personal use. Technicians, repair shops, and vocational schools are free to use these files in their day-to-day work or teaching.
6.2. What is not personal use is any activity that turns the files or works derived from them into merchandise, namely:
- manufacturing PCBs, kits, modules, or finished products for sale based on these files;
- selling, renting, or trading the files in any form;
- including the files in a bundle, database, collection, membership, paid course, or digital product; and
- offering the files as a bonus or incentive in a transaction.
6.3. Item 6.2.a applies only to production derived from Elwar Braja’s files. It does not apply to work you have drawn yourself from scratch as described in Article 9.
6.4. If you are unsure where this boundary lies, please ask first via the Contact page.
7. Sharing
7.1. What you may share freely is the link to the official page on elwarbraja.com. You are welcome to share it on forums, groups, social media, in class, or anywhere else.
7.2. Re-uploading, mirroring, or distributing the files themselves on websites, cloud storage services, messaging groups, or other channels is not permitted without written permission. This applies whether that distribution is free or paid.
7.3. The reason is simple and stated openly: the official page carries the latest version along with its corrections. Copies floating around separately go out of date quickly and mislead the people who find them.
7.4. Written permission to mirror the files may be granted on request, particularly for educational institutions and non-profit archival projects.
8. Modification
8.1. You are free to modify the files for personal use. All modifications, component selection, layout, fabrication, assembly, testing, and the consequences of their use are your responsibility.
8.2. If you share a modified version, state clearly that you have altered it and that it is not an official Elwar Braja version. Sharing a modified version remains subject to Article 7.2.
8.3. Do not use the name, logo, or visual identity of Elwar Braja in a way that suggests Elwar Braja has reviewed, approved, warranted, or is responsible for your modification.
9. Independent redrawing
9.1. In line with Article 1.2, the electronic circuit itself is not licensed by this document. Anyone is free to redraw that circuit from scratch and create their own PCB layout, including for commercial purposes. This license does not prevent that and does not attempt to.
9.2. What is protected is the presentation. Accordingly, do not copy Elwar Braja’s drawing and then call it an independent redraw, and do not attach Elwar Braja’s identity to your own independent work.
9.3. Work you have genuinely drawn yourself belongs entirely to you.
10. Prohibited use
Without written permission, you may not:
- carry out any of the activities listed in Article 6.2;
- redistribute the files as described in Article 7.2;
- remove, obscure, crop, or alter any logo, watermark, author name, or license notice on the files;
- replace the author identity on the files with your own brand;
- claim to be the original creator of the files;
- sublicense, sell access to, or transfer the rights under this license to anyone else;
- use the name or identity of Elwar Braja to claim an endorsement, certification, warranty, or affiliation that does not exist; or
- collect the files by automated means (scraping, crawling, or bulk downloading), or use them to train, fine-tune, or build artificial intelligence models, datasets, or automated services.
11. Commercial use
11.1. This license grants no commercial rights.
11.2. Requests for a commercial license may be submitted via the Contact page. Elwar Braja is under no obligation to grant one and may approve, refuse, or set different terms for each project.
12. Elwar Braja’s rights
To the extent protected by law, Elwar Braja’s rights attach to its own original contribution, namely the presentation and layout of the drawings, the graphics, the text and documentation, the corrections and modifications made, the compilation of files, and the name, logo, and visual identity of Elwar Braja.
13. Trademarks
This license grants no right to use the trademarks, logos, visual identity, account names, or domain names of Elwar Braja, beyond their unaltered presence in the files you download.
14. No warranty
14.1. The files are provided as is. Some projects, particularly archival material and redrawn schematics, have not been physically tested.
14.2. There is no warranty that the files are free of errors, fit for any particular purpose, safe for production, compliant with any regulation, or functional under all conditions.
14.3. You are responsible for carrying out engineering review, simulation, prototyping, testing, safety validation, and regulatory compliance before putting any result into use.
15. Liability and risk
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elwar Braja is not liable for damage, data loss, production costs, circuit failure, claims from your customers, injury, lost income, or any other loss arising from the use, modification, fabrication, distribution of, or reliance on the files.
16. Availability, backups, and support
16.1. There is no guarantee that the files or their download pages will remain available indefinitely. Once you have downloaded them, keeping your own backup is your responsibility. Elwar Braja may update, replace, relocate, or discontinue distribution of the files.
16.2. This license carries no obligation to provide technical support, fixes, updates, or answers to technical questions.
17. Breach and termination
17.1. The rights granted by this license terminate automatically if you breach its terms.
17.2. You must cease the infringing use and, if asked, take down the infringing distribution or offer.
17.3. Provisions concerning scope, ownership, prohibitions, disclaimers, and liability survive termination to the extent relevant.
18. Severability and waiver
18.1. If any provision of this license is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be adjusted to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
18.2. A failure or delay by Elwar Braja in enforcing any provision does not constitute a waiver of it.
19. Changes to this license
19.1. Elwar Braja may publish new versions of this license for files distributed in the future.
19.2. Changes do not automatically revoke rights already lawfully obtained in copies governed by an earlier version of the license, unless otherwise required by law or agreed separately.
20. Language versions
This license is published in Indonesian, English, and Spanish. The Indonesian version is the official and binding version. Other language versions are provided solely for the reader’s convenience; in the event of any difference in interpretation, the Indonesian version prevails.
21. Governing law
This license is governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, while respecting any mandatory rights that cannot be waived under the law applicable to you.
22. Contact
